Hello Red Door World! My name is Kaitlyn (mostly everyone calls me Katie) and I am interning at Red Door Real Estate for this semester. I am from Hamburg, NY, and am currently a junior attending Hilbert College. Go Hawks!
I am an English major and a Communications minor and am also enrolled in the Honors program. My dream is to one day become a best-selling author of young adult fiction. A huge role model to me would 100% be John Green, who writes some of my favorite books. So, John Green if you’re reading this, call me. As for my real-world future job I will admit I don’t really know at this point, but at least I have my dream job.
Currently, I keep busy with two jobs. At Ruby Tuesday, I can be hosting, serving, or bartending within the same week. On weekends, I am a wedding server at Avanti Mansion, although right now I am not there often as not many people want to get married in this cold.
If I am not a work, school, or Red Door, I am at home relaxing. I love to listen to music or curl up in bed with a book. A little fun fact about me is that I am a huge fan of the Peanuts Comic Strip and love to read the comics. I also love to spend time with Peanut. Peanut is my loving, energetic, ten-year-old dog. Peanut is a Chepom, or a long-haired Chihuahua, Pomeranian mix and is my best friend.
This semester I am trying something new. Personally, I feel that I have stayed in a box for most of my life and I want to start pushing myself out of my comfort zone. That is part of the reason why I took this internship in the first place, as I have never driven to Buffalo before. This semester is going to be a lot of firsts for me and I am very exited to see what this semester and my future has in store.
