The first thing that most people think about when they first hear Buffalo is, of course, the famous Buffalo chicken wings! Every native Buffalonian has their own opinion of what restaurant has the best chicken wings in Buffalo, but here are of few of the most popular chicken wing spots that you must try!
The famous Anchor Bar dates all the way back to 1964 when its chicken wings were first created by Teresa Bellissimo with her secret recipe that she made on a whim for some friends. The homemade chicken wings were such a big hit that she then decided to put them on the menu for the Anchor Bar, not before long the chicken wing became a staple for her restaurant! Anchor Bar has since expanded gradually into the franchise that it is today with several locations all around WNY but also in other areas like Texas and Canada. Anchor Bar sells bottles of their special sauce, apparel, and other merchandise for their most avid customers online or in stores. For those who live out of town and wish to have a piece of the Anchor Bar, it’s right at their fingertips!
Another famous chicken wing restaurant in Buffalo and a personal favorite of mine is Duffs! Duffs is known for its famous chicken wings that were introduced in 1969. Duffs first began serving chicken wings at their original location in Amherst which is still their most popular restaurant! 
The majority of people go to Duffs to get their mouth-watering chicken wings, however, Duffs also has a large menu for those who are looking to get something other than chicken wings. Do you live far from Buffalo? Not to worry! Duffs has partnered with Foody Direct to deliver you its famous chicken wings; you can now order up to 100 of your favorite wings to wherever you are!
A local chicken wing restaurant right down the street from us at Red Door is Wing King 716! This is a restaurant strictly for chicken wings. Wing King offers a plethora of different wing flavors, over 50 to be exact! On the menu, there are flavors that you wouldn’t even imagine to be delicious! One of their most popular flavors the loganberry flavored chicken wing! This is definitely a must when taste-testing different wings around Buffalo!
As if all of these famous chicken wing restaurants weren’t enough, there is the annual Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival to kick off the month of September! On Saturday, September 1st and Sunday, September 2nd, the Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival takes place downtown at Coca-Cola Field. The chicken wing fest started in 2002 by the “wing king” Drew Cerza to celebrate the great Buffalo-style chicken wing! This is a weekend when all your favorite chicken wing restaurants come together so you can enjoy them all at once! There are 191 restaurants that take part in the festival and a total of 2.4 million wings are consumed just within these two days! We are looking forward to seeing you at the chicken wing fest in September!
